Technical Services Offered
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is the examination of the colon and the end part of the small intestine using a flexible tube that is passed through the anus. This procedure allows your doctor to visually diagnose problems, stop a bleeding lesion, and biopsy or remove a lesion. Colonoscopy is also the method of choice for colon cancer screening.
Endoscopy
Also called EGD (Esophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy), an endoscopy is a procedure that visualizes the upper part of the digestive tract down to the start of small intestine. Endoscopy may be used for both diagnosis and treatment of certain upper digestive system problems.
Capsule Endoscopy
Also called capsule enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy uses a small pill-like capsule to examine the lining of the middle part of your gastrointestinal tract. The primary use of a capsule endoscopy is to examine areas of the small intestine that cannot be seen by other types of tests such as colonoscopy or standard endoscopy.
Intestinal Breath Test
This is a simple, office-based or at-home procedure, measuring the amount of hydrogen and methane gas produced by a patient’s intestinal bacteria. It is most commonly used to diagnose SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), but can also be applied to a variety of conditions.
Heidelberg pH Testing
Heidelberg pH testing is done to measure the acidity of the stomach, which can tell us a lot about how well nutrients are being absorbed into the body. This test is only available in a limited number of centers throughout the US. We are proud to make it available to our patients.
